Apple Musicの助かる所は、Apple Musicのセンスを通したお勧めのアルバムを見つけられる事です。

 

先程、普段お気に入りのApple Music R&Bのプレイリストが、思ったより口に合わなかったので、Apple Musicジャズのお勧めを聴いたらとても好きでした。 

 

Of The Earth / Syabaka

　

Apple Musicジャズのトップに出ていて、聴いてみると此の楽曲が一番好きでした。

Those Of The SkyやアルバムOf The Earthは、お風呂に微温湯（ぬるまゆ）を張ったり、大きめ洗面器にお湯とアロマオイルを1、2滴落とし、素足を浸けている時に流すととても合うのではないかと思います。

 

ミュージシャンの中には絶対音感という才能（ギフト）を持たれている方々が多数おられますが、 その中でもシャバカは景色から音が聴こえるタイプの絶対音感の持ち主ではないか、と思いました。

 

Apple Musicのアーティストリンクにはシャバカへの詳しい言及は無かったので、そういうスタイルの音楽活動をされているのでしょうね。

 

絶対音感というと、全ての音が全部音楽に聴こえる、又は音そのものに対して非常に敏感で、絶対音感というギフトの持ち主と一緒に過ごす場合、物音に注意せねばならない、というのが1990年代の日本での理解でした。

 

聞いた話なんですが。

 

音が全て音符で聴こえると同時に音楽として認識出来るタイプ、

聞こえた音が何の音階か分かるタイプ、

頭の中で始終音楽が鳴って居て、ある日其れが自分だけだと気が付き、譜に起こす（楽譜に書き出していける）タイプ、

前述プラス、まだ知られていない絶対音感のタイプが、複雑に合わさって居るタイプ等々、

 

あらゆる絶対音感の持ち主が居るのでは無いか？　と思いました。

 

複雑に合わさっているタイプは編曲に特化して居たり、会場でPAと呼ばれる機材を扱って、録音と同じクオリティで聴衆の耳に伝わるよう調節したり、レコーディングスタジオで最も重要な音全般のクオリティを維持する業務、サウンド・エンジニアで其のギフトを生かして居るのではないでしょうか？

 

シャバカが自ら言及しない限り此の方のギフトの種類は分かりませんが、Of The Earthを一聴した時、此の人は目の前の景色から音が聴こえて居るか、聴こえて居る音の音符が見えているのかも知れないな、と思いました。

其れは、イメージ（想像内の描象形）という画（ピクチャー）から聴こえる音も含まれるのではないでしょうか？

ジャズやフュージョンの音もシルキーで好きです。

此処まで行くと、サウンドシステムにまで拘らないとならないので、スピーカーを選ばない私はとても緊張してしまうんですが、アイフォンでApple Musicのハイレゾロスレスにして、RELAXのスピーカーで流すと、HSPの私の耳でも十分問題無く聞けます。

The great thing about Apple Music is discovering recommended albums curated through Apple Music's taste.
Earlier, I realized my usual favorite Apple Music R&B playlist wasn't quite to my taste, so I tried Apple Music's jazz recommendations—and I really liked them.

Of The Earth / Syabaka

　

Apple Music's Jazz Top list featured this track, and upon listening, it became my favorite.
I think “Those Of The Sky” and the album “Of The Earth” would be perfect to play while running a lukewarm bath, or filling a large basin with hot water and a drop or two of aromatherapy oil, and soaking your bare feet.
 
Many musicians possess the gift of perfect pitch, but among them, I think Shabaka might be the type who hears sounds from scenery.
 
Since Apple Music's artist page didn't mention Shabaka in detail, I suppose that's the style of music he pursues.
 
Back in the 1990s in Japan, the understanding of perfect pitch was that all sounds were perceived as music, or that people with this gift were extremely sensitive to sound itself. It was said that when spending time with someone possessing this gift, you had to be careful about making noise.
 
So I've heard.
 
There are types who hear every sound as a musical note and recognize it as music,
types who can identify the scale of any sound they hear,
types who constantly hear music playing in their head and one day realize it's only them, then transcribe it (can write it down as sheet music),
types who combine the above plus other, as yet undiscovered types of perfect pitch, and so on.
 
I wondered if there might be all kinds of absolute pitch people out there?
 
Those with complex combinations might specialize in arranging, or work with PA equipment at venues, adjusting it so the audience hears the same quality as the recording, or maintain the overall sound quality—the most crucial aspect in recording studios—as sound engineers, putting that gift to use, right?
 
Unless Shabaka himself mentions it, we can't know the exact nature of his gift. But upon first hearing Of The Earth, I wondered if this person hears sounds from the scenery before their eyes, or perhaps even sees the musical notes of the sounds they hear.
Couldn't that include sounds heard from pictures formed by imagery (pictures within the imagination)?

This is Step Lightly from the album Of The Earth featured in today's title.
I also love the silky sounds of jazz and fusion.
At this level, you really have to be particular about your sound system, and since I don't pick my speakers carefully, it makes me very nervous. But when I play it on my iPhone with Apple Music set to Hi-Res Lossless through my RELAX speakers, even my highly sensitive ears can listen perfectly fine.

青年の新緑を咲く / Let's Taken GOOD DESIGN Our Life / SNOOZE / SZA

沖縄の精神医療 / 小椋 力 / 中山書店

今、「精神医学の知と技　沖縄の精神医療」という本を読んでいます。

こちらは、私の住む国の沖縄県での精神医療とユタという今も活躍されているシャーマンとの関係を、お医者様が科学と医学的に紐解く本です。

 

私はちょっと事情があって日本の近代史も殆どやっていないので、初めて知る沖縄という事で序文から驚きの連続です。

内容については咀嚼が必要なので、今日は記しません。

 

1998年の医介輔（いかいほ）と患者との診療後の語らいの写真には、扇風機がひと部屋に2つ置いてあるんです。

風を2方向から患者に当てています。

扇風機を沖縄ではひと部屋に2個置いていますので、どんどん暑く気温が上昇している現代の日本でも、沖縄以外の土地は、全員これを真似した方が良いと思いました。

 

それまで1扇風機+マイ扇風機はギークしかやらないものと（PCの熱で暑くなる為）思っていた私は、写真を見て膝を打ちました。

私は今年からひと部屋に扇風機2台体制で行きます。

 

実は上の写真はブックデザインのカバーを外して撮っています。

理由は、偶然ブックカバーが取れた時に、下のデザインが出て来てそのエバー・グリーンなデザインがとても良かったので、こちらにしました。

 

著者の小椋 力（おぐら・ちから）先生のデザインの意向は、恐らく此方のカレッジなデザインだと思ったからです。

本来のブックカバーデザインも悪いわけではないですが、ブックカバーのデザインが見るものに訴えかけるメッセージは、

「此れはとても難しく、沖縄という誰もが知っている苦しみについて、書かれています」です。

 

対して写真に撮った、カバーの下のデザインは、カレッジなエバー・グリーンデザインで統一され、精神医学の知と技という英文が表紙に置かれています。

写真と同じフォントが呼び出せないので、このフォントとフォントデザインから受ける皆さんの感じた印象と同質なものを、この本の内容で伝えたいのだと思います。

 

「Knowledge and Arts Of Psychiatry」 

 

科学とインテリジェンスというメッセージです。

デザインメッセージというのは此れ程重要なものなので、「精神医学の知と技　沖縄の精神医療」には、ひと部屋に扇風機2台を設置するだけでなく、実は沖縄は琉球王国の時代から、日本より100年以上前に麻酔を用いた手術が行われていたという、医術最先地であり続けている土地である、という驚くべき事実が記されています。

 

本の装丁というのは、こういうデザインメッセージでネットや書店で見かけた人々の興味と本の内容を適切に的確に伝える役割も持っているんですよね。

 

　

写真はカラーの「グリーンゴッテス」という種類です。

とても美しく、初対面なのに昔、誰も憶えていない程昔に、青年の時期を過ごした相手のような知性と洗練を感じます。

Mental Health Care in Okinawa / Riki Chikara / Nakayama Shoten

 

I'm currently reading a book titled “Psychiatric Knowledge and Skills: Mental Healthcare in Okinawa.”
This book, written by a doctor, scientifically and medically unravels the relationship between mental healthcare in Okinawa Prefecture, where I live, and the yuta—shamans who are still active today.
 
Due to certain circumstances, I haven't studied much of Japan's modern history, so learning about Okinawa for the first time has been a series of surprises right from the preface.
The content requires careful digestion, so I won't write about it today.
 
In a 1998 photo of  Ikaifu conversing with a patient after treatment, there are two fans in one room.
They're directing airflow at the patient from two directions.
Since Okinawa places two fans per room, I thought everyone outside Okinawa should adopt this practice, especially in modern Japan where temperatures keep rising.
 
Until then, I had thought that only Geeks would use one fan plus a personal fan (because PCs generate heat), but when I saw the photo, I was struck by inspiration.
Starting this year, I will use two fans in each room.
 
Actually, the photo above was taken with the book cover removed.
The reason is that when the book cover came off by accident, the design underneath appeared, and I liked the evergreen design so much that I decided to use it.
 
I thought that the design intention of the author, Professor Chikara Ogura, was probably this college-style design.
The original book cover design isn't bad, but the message that the book cover design conveys to the viewer is:
“This is very difficult, and it is written about the suffering of Okinawa that everyone knows about.”
 
In contrast, the design photographed under the cover is unified with a collegiate, evergreen design, and the English words “Knowledge and Arts of Psychiatry” are placed on the cover.

Book design, with its inherent message, also plays a vital role in accurately conveying the book's content and capturing the interest of those who encounter it online or in bookstores.

 

　

The photo shows a variety called “Green Goddess.”

It is very beautiful, and even though we are meeting for the first time, I feel an intelligence and sophistication reminiscent of someone I spent my youth with, so long ago that no one remembers.

今年ですね、私の毎日は年中バタバタしていたんです。

それでその内バタバタも終わるだろう、終わるだろう、と過ごしていたんですが、12月に入ってもバタバタしていたので、数日前に、今年はもうこんなだからバタバタしておこう、と決めまして、今年は普段通りにブログを動かします。

 

上記の写真は、Temuで購入したアナログタイプの電話です。

このタイプは、現代のプッシュ回線やLineに対応可能機種です。

1930年代ビンテージモデルなんだそうです。 5384円でした。

もっとクラシカルなタイプも合ったんですが、大正時代くらいのスタイル・細身で、昔の旧制高等学校（今の大学校）の教授室に置いてあったような、美しいカーブを持った細い受話器が乗っている電話。電話機と書いたほうがいいでしょうか。

そういうのもありました。倍の値段がしますが。気になる方は、一度Temuで見て確認されては如何でしょうか？

 

 

ストーブで鍋を煮る

今はもう31日の朝方ですが。

30日は、買っておいた豚肉のブロックを煮豚にして、ストーブでコトコトと炊いていました。

豚のブロック肉はスーパーで500円から800円くらいです。

パックで売っています。

安い時や食費に余裕がある時に買っておいて、冷凍して作りたい時に使います。

角煮を作ったり、 甜麺醤（テンメンジャン）を塗って野菜で巻いて食べる為に茹でたり、今は煮豚を作るのが私の旬です。

 

こちらのレシピは随分前にレシピノートに控えていたんですけれど、元のサイトが探し出せませんでしたので、レシピノートの記述を出します。

この煮豚はさっぱりした味で、出来上がりをスライスして辛子をつけて頂きます。

 

弱火で30分程似た状態

 

醤油煮豚（しょうゆにぶた）のレシピ

豚肩ロース肉（ブロック）　500g〜

八角　1個

出汁昆布（だしこんぶ）　1枚

 

調味料

酒（焼酎でもジンでも）100ml

醤油　大さじ1

塩　小さじ1

 

辛子は、チューブでも美味しいが、粉辛子（こなからし）を水で溶いて、食べる度に使うとフレッシュで美味しい。

 

1.　肉がかぶるくらいの水を入れ、鍋を中火にかける。灰汁（あく）が出てきたら、1度湯を捨て、鍋と豚肉を水で洗う

 

2.　 1の鍋に水1リットル、出汁昆布1枚、調味料全部を入れ（1リットル+調味料です）、弱火で1時間煮る

 

3.　1時間後、豚肉を取り出し、粗熱（あらねつ・此処では豚肉の熱）が取れるまで冷ましたら、水気をキッチンペーパーで拭き取り、スライスする

 

💫 粉辛子はスーパーの胡椒等が置いてある棚に、大体有ります。粉辛子をひと袋、冬の始まりに買っておくと、日本では2月頃から並ぶ、春を告げる菜（さい）・菜の花の辛子和え（なのはなの からしあえ）の時に大活躍します。

 

私は通常の暮らしのリズムでは、菜の花の辛子和えは10回は作ります。皆さんも同じ筈です（笑）

第九と言われると、何となく少し嫌な顔をしているハートが胸の中で仕方なく目を伏せますが、実は「喜びの歌」という当時かなり新しい発明の楽曲だったんだそうです。

交響曲5番という組曲の中の、シンフォニー9番が正式名称です。

それで第九番の略で「第九（だいく）」と呼ばれています。

想像ですが、きっとクラシックに詳しい方々の呼び方が、世の中に出たんでしょうね。

 

私は大晦日の過ごし方として、ミドル世代に入った頃からまたベルリンフィル・ハーモニー・オーケストラを聴くようになりました。

指揮者は「ヘルベルト・フォン・カラヤン」が好きです。

ラジオのベルリンフィル・ハーモニー・オーケストラのプログラムを待って居たり、今年のようにアップル・ミュージックで探したり。

「シンフォニー9番（第九）」をかけると、不思議と大晦日の夜が艶のあるビロウド色に染まります。

室内の空気が清らかになったような美しさが、部屋中に満ちるんですよね。

 

何か煮炊きして居ても、ゆっくりコーヒーを飲んで居ても、シャンパンを静かに飲んで居ても、それは同じです。

今年は何だか和風だけでは無い、知的な柔らかさと氷点下の毅然さを漂わせたいな、と思う方は、良かったら試してみてください。

 

ちなみに、O.先生から教えて頂いたんですが、ベルリンフィルのニュー・イヤー・コンサートはYouTubeでも観れるんだそうです。

フォーマルな雰囲気を覗けるので、静々（しずしず）とゴージャスな新年の過ごし方を好まれる方は、1月2日のYouTubeプログラムを調べて見て下さいね。

Butterfly Just Dance, you might be wondering if I'm taking any time off for the New Year holidays this year.

 
Well, this year, my days have been hectic all year round.
I kept thinking the chaos would end eventually, but even by December it was still hectic. So a few days ago, I decided that since it's been like this all year, I'll just keep going with the chaos. I'll run my blog as usual this year.

 

The photo above shows an analog-style phone I bought on Temu.
This model is compatible with modern push-button lines and Line.
It's apparently a vintage model from the 1930s. It cost ¥5,384.

There was also a more classical type available—a Taisho era style, slim and elegant, with a beautifully curved, slender handset like the ones you'd find in the professors' offices of old-style high schools (equivalent to today's universities). Should I call it a telephone set?
That one was available too. It cost twice as much. If you're interested, why not take a look on Temu and see for yourself?

Cooking a pot on the stove

It's already the morning of the 31st now.
On the 30th, I simmered a block of pork I'd bought earlier into braised pork, letting it bubble away on the stove.
A block of pork costs around 500 to 800 yen at the supermarket.
It's sold in packs.
I buy it when it's cheap or when I have a little extra in my food budget, freeze it, and use it when I want to cook.
I use it for making kakuni (braised pork), or boiling it to spread with sweet bean sauce (tenmenjan) and wrap in vegetables. Right now, making simmered pork is my thing.
 
I jotted down this recipe in my recipe notebook quite a while ago, but I couldn't find the original site, so I'll share what's written in my notebook.
This simmered pork has a light flavor. Once done, slice it and enjoy with mustard.

Simmered on low heat for about 30 minutes

Soy-Braised Pork Recipe
Pork shoulder roast (block) 500g~
Star anise 1 piece
Dashi kombu 1 sheet

Seasonings
Sake (shochu or gin also works) 100ml
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
 
Mustard is delicious from a tube, but dissolving powdered mustard in water and using it fresh each time is even better.

1. Add enough water to cover the meat and place the pot over medium heat. Once scum appears, discard the water and rinse both the pot and pork with water.
 
2. Add 1 liter of water, 1 piece of kombu dashi, and all seasonings (1 liter + seasonings) to the pot from step 1. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
 
3. After 1 hour, remove the pork. Let it cool until the heat subsides (referring to the pork's heat here). Pat dry with paper towels and slice.
 
💫 Ground mustard is usually found on the shelf with pepper and other spices at the supermarket. Buying a bag of ground mustard at the start of winter comes in super handy when making mustard-dressed rapeseed flowers (nanohana no karashi-ae) – a dish heralding spring that appears around February in Japan.
 
In my normal routine, I make mustard-dressed rapeseed flowers at least 10 times. I bet you all do too (lol).

 

Apple Music Berlin Philharmonic Beethoven Symphony No. 5

When someone mentions the Ninth, my heart sighs reluctantly and looks away, but apparently it was actually a pretty new invention at the time—a piece called the “Ode to Joy.”
Its official name is Symphony No. 9, part of the Symphony No. 5 suite.
That's why it's called the Ninth(In Japan "Dai Ku", short for Symphony No. 9.
I imagine it must have been the way classical music experts referred to it that caught on with the general public.
 
As for how I spend New Year's Eve, I started listening to the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra again around the time I entered middle age.
I particularly like Herbert von Karajan as the conductor.
I'd wait for the Berlin Philharmonic's radio program or, like this year, search for it on Apple Music.
When I play Symphony No. 9 (the Ninth), strangely, New Year's Eve night is dyed a lustrous velvet color.
A beauty, as if the air in the room had become purified, fills the entire space.
 
It doesn't matter if I'm cooking something, sipping coffee slowly, or quietly drinking champagne—it's the same.
 
If you're someone who wants to infuse this year with not just Japanese tradition, but also an intellectual softness and the resolute calm of sub-zero temperatures, please give it a try.
 
By the way, I heard from Prof.O. that the Berlin Philharmonic's New Year's Concert is also available on YouTube.
