ラテン語表記のIris(英語:アイリス、仏語:イリス)はギリシャ神話の虹の女神イーリスに由来する。

L'HEURE BLUEUE・Eau de parfum / Guerlain |
I bought a new product from Guerlain.
It’s the spray version of Rue Bleue Eau de Parfum.
Even though it’s an Eau de Parfum, it comes with a spray.
The bottle design is so beautiful—it was love at first sight.
The scent is iris.
In Latin, “iris” refers to the iris flower.

The scent is iris.
In Latin, “iris” refers to the iris flower.
The Latin name “Iris” (English: Iris; French: Iris) is derived from Iris, the goddess of the rainbow in Greek mythology.
The rainbow serves as a bridge for the goddess Iris to travel back and forth between heaven and earth.
As the saying goes, “Iris leaves are swords; the lily is the knight's flower,” and because of its crisp, dignified appearance, it is also known as the “knight's flower.”
From the Wikipedia entry on the genus Iris
Since I didn’t own any iris-scented perfume, I’m really glad I chose this one based on the bottle design.
The main image simply says “Iris,” so I wondered, “What kind of scent is this?” and looked it up on Wikipedia. It turns out that “iris” refers to the Japanese iris, and its leaves symbolize a sword.
In Christian art—which laid the foundation for the Western art I’ve been interested in lately—the lily, known as the flower of the Virgin Mary, is actually the flower of the knight. And since the iris’s leaves resemble swords, this perfume holds deep meaning for me as a bisexual person.
Actually, in my daily life, I’m quite close to being asexual, and using “they” as my pronoun probably best reflects my personal gender identity.
Thanks to the keen insight of the wonderful acquaintances I’ve made recently, I’ve been called “boy,” and I’m happy that I feel like I’ve become a reliable young man.
Even so, I really love the physical structure of my female body, and I also love the feminine way of being—that supple, elegant presence.
This perfume is a reissue of the iconic fragrance of the same name originally created in 1912 by Jacques Guerlain, the third-generation perfumer at Guerlain, under the “Rue Bleue” line; it’s being released as a new product with updated packaging.
According to Guerlain, the fragrance is inspired by the “blue moments” that appear twice a day.
It has a very fresh scent—it reminds me of the old “Ultra Marine” by Givenchy, Chanel’s “No. 19” and “No. 5,” and Guerlain’s classic “Nuit Volante.” There’s also another note to it that I absolutely love.
Even though it’s called “Blue,” it gives off a white, airy impression.
I plan to use it with great care.

This is the tobacco pouch I mentioned in the Sunday edition the other day.
It’s sold right in front of the register at FamilyMart. It was 360 yen.
There weren’t many left, so I bought the peppermint flavor.

Apparently, you place it between your lip and teeth and absorb the nicotine through your saliva.
It says the sensation lasts for about 30 minutes. If you try it out once before riding the Shinkansen, a train, a plane, or a ship, and it agrees with you, then even smoke-free cars or completely smoke-free facilities won’t be a problem.
It’s wonderful.

This fluorescent yellow really has that early ’80s design vibe, doesn’t it?
To me, all kinds of early ’80s items seem to be full of a refined brightness and sharpness.
As I mentioned in the previous Sunday edition, while it has a soft texture, it’s firm enough to stay in place on your fingers.
Plus, it adds shine, so when I want to define the shape of my hair
I haven’t seen it yet, though.
Takuya Kimura—best known for his role in “Kyojō” (streaming on Netflix)—has appeared in a commercial for GATSBY MOVING RUBBER for the first time in a while. The tagline for the ad is “Nothing but good vibes.”
As I walk outside, I, too, sense that atmosphere—a world gradually brightening from the blue sky just before something amazing happens.
I’ve always had this image of Kimura-kun as a young man—even though he’s actually a fully matured adult—but for some reason, I think the posters, commercials, and products featuring Takuya Kimura embody a cool, hip vibe—a blend of passion and composure—that captures the essence of a young man who does his own thing, free-spirited and successful.
For some reason, he’s the kind of young man you quietly notice out of the corner of your eye from a slight distance, thinking, “Oh, that guy’s cool.”
It’s strange, isn’t it?
I’ll keep watching that young man from a slight distance forever.
No matter how much time passes, I never feel the urge to approach him and try to understand what’s really going on inside him.

Apparently, it’s a fragrance bar, and it’s made in Italy.
It cost about 1,000 yen, but because of its unusual shape, I wondered, “How do I open this?” and fiddled with it for a while until I figured it out.

I used to apply this spicy, mature scent to the nape of my neck or in my hair when I wanted to layer it over my usual perfume to create a masculine, chinoiserie-inspired scent—similar to Chanel No. 19 or Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium. Ultimately, I found that applying it to the side of my head, over my hair, allows the scent to linger as I move, thanks to the heat from my scalp.
It’s incredibly stylish.
It’s a scent that evokes the image of a tough, stylish man.
That's all from Rule Blue.
