何もかも何でも最上と宙を見ている目付きで誉め続けるのでは無く、常に応援しているタレントの味方であるので、アプローザーです。

その上で、意見を持ったり感想を好きに自分に従って持って良いのがアプローザーですよね。

I’ve been thinking that since fandom culture exists in my country as well, perhaps modern idol culture and fandom culture actually originated in Japan?

ショップパウリーネでサンキューカードやミニ・ロザリオを購入しました。

サンキューカードは私の普段の生活では使う機会があまり無いのですが、とても上品で薔薇が一輪だけというデザインに惹かれて購入しました。

ミニ・ロザリオはパールビーズが付いた小さなタイプで、私は雨が好きで冬が大好きなので購入しました。

蝶のピン・ブローチはシノワズリなタイプで、陶器のような肌触りです。

普段余りピンを付けるファッションでは無いのですが、強いデザインで素敵なので、棚やキャビネットにオブジェとして置いても良いかな、なんて思っています。

 

実はこちらのミニ・ロザリオや通常サイズのロザリオには、中心の要（かなめ）にメダイが付けられています。

こちらは不思議のメダイと呼ばれるメダイです。

先のコロナウイルスが世界中に蔓延していた時、キリスト教圏はとても広大ですので、信仰を持たれている方、又ご縁の合った方々が、この不思議のメダイを日本でいう御守りのように持たれていたそうです。

数日前メダイをネットで見ていたら、Pray for us.と記されたマリア様のメダイがあり、ドキッとしたんですね。

私達の為に祈りなさい。というジャングリッシュ（古い日本人にしか通じない英語の総称（スラング））の古い英語教育しか無い私は、命令形で読んだんです。

 

マリア様が、マリア様達（天使さんとかキリスト様とか）の為に、こちらに祈りなさい、と初めて見る厳しさで言っている。という図柄だと咄嗟に認識しました。 

？？？ 何だろう？　そんな強く居丈高に言うかな？　偽物かな？　と考えていたら、数日後にどういう意味か分かりました。

 

実は不思議なメダイにはお祈りの言葉が決まっています。

「ああ、けがれなくお宿りになられた聖マリア、あなたに より頼むわたしたちのために お祈りください」

という短いお祈りを唱えるのだそうです。

 

その、私達の為にお祈り下さい、が「Pray for us.」だったんですね。

知らないって凄いですよね？

余りに知らなすぎて自分にびっくりしました。 

 

　

そう言えば私、以前写経しにお寺に行った事があるんですよ。

時間があった時に、お部屋で写経をして奉納したり、お寺がお持ちの写経場が空いている時間に写経をして、やはり奉納したりするというやり方もあります。

 

私は自分で行ってみて驚いたんですが、写経をして奉納する時に奉納する私がお寺さんに奉納料を支払うんですね。

一瞬、お金を払って写経を奉納する、の流れが頭の中で繋がっていなかったんですが、そりゃそうだろう、と、むしろ今まで私の中にその流れが入っていなかった事の方が驚きでした。

 

写経の場合、何について写経をするか。言葉が合っているか分かりませんが、お願いしたい事、写経に込める願いを最初に記すんです。

で、私が願った内容が無事善い風になる様に、御住職（お坊様の事）が沢山の写経をお経と共に奉納して下さるんだそうです。 

それは確かに有料です。

I bought some thank-you cards and a mini rosary at Shop Pauline.
I can’t really think of many occasions in my daily life when I’d use thank-you cards, but I was drawn to the design—which features a single rose—and found it very elegant, so I bought them.

The mini rosary is a small type with pearl beads; I bought it because I love rain and I absolutely love winter.
The butterfly pin brooch has a chinoiserie style and feels like porcelain to the touch.
I don’t usually wear pins with my outfits, but since the design is so striking and lovely, I’m thinking it might look nice displayed as a decorative object on a shelf or in a cabinet.

Actually, both this mini rosary and the regular-sized rosary feature a medal attached to the central pivot.
This is the so-called “Miraculous Medal.”

During the recent global spread of the coronavirus, given the vast size of the Christian world, it is said that people of faith—as well as those who had some connection to the faith—carried this Miraculous Medal much like an amulet in Japan.

A few days ago, while browsing medals online, I came across a medal of the Virgin Mary inscribed with “Pray for us,” and it really caught my attention.
Having only received an old-fashioned English education—where “Janglish” (a slang term for English that only older Japanese people understand) was the norm—I read it as an imperative: “Pray for us.”

I instantly interpreted the design to mean that the Virgin Mary was telling me, with a severity I’d never seen before, to pray here on behalf of her and the others (like the angels and Christ).
??? What could this mean? Would she really speak so forcefully and haughtily? Is it a fake? Just as I was pondering these questions, I figured out what it meant a few days later.

It turns out that the Miraculous Medal has a specific prayer associated with it.
“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.”
Apparently, you’re supposed to recite this short prayer.

So, that “Pray for us” was actually “Pray for us.”
It’s amazing how little I knew, isn’t it?
I was shocked at just how ignorant I was. 

 

　

Come to think of it, I actually went to a temple once to copy sutras.
When you have time, you can copy sutras in your own room and offer them, or you can go to the temple’s sutra-copying room when it’s available and copy them there—and then offer them as well.

I was actually surprised when I went myself—it turns out that when you copy a sutra and dedicate it, you, the person making the offering, pay a dedication fee to the temple.
For a split second, the idea of paying money to dedicate a sutra didn’t quite click in my head, but then I thought, “Of course that makes sense.” In fact, I was more surprised that this process hadn’t occurred to me before.

When it comes to sutra copying, the question is: what are you copying for? I’m not sure if this is the right way to put it, but first, you write down the request you wish to make—the wish you’re imbuing into the sutra.
Then, to ensure that my wish turns out well, the head priest (the monk) offers up a large number of sutra copies along with sutra recitations on my behalf.
That service does indeed come with a fee.

日曜日なので、穏やかな内容を書いています。

（3・11の地震と先日の地震について少しだけ記述していますが、強い内容ではありません） 

 

やっと今の部屋に合う絵のセレクトが終わり、テーブルの上に並べて見ると計画した通り、小さな美術館の様でした。

不意に訪れた模様替えもやっと終わり、気がつくと８月になっていました。

それ位予期せぬ大模様替えだったのですが、とても疲れました。

 

先日、私の住む街の近くの県で大きな地震が起こり、家具が壊れる程度ではありませんでしたが、私の部屋も知っている以上に長く横に揺れて居ました。 

当日に2度程余震もあり、疲れていて寝不足だったせいか、今回は私にもショックが出て居たようです。

私は今までの人生で大きな地震の体験は2回あるので、大丈夫だろうと思っていたので、少し驚きました。

  

余りに気持ちがナーバスに過敏になっていたので、１日1錠ずつバファリンを分けて飲み、食事を取り、ニュースから離れて家事をこなしたリ、夜は体と精神の疲れを部屋でそっと涙を流して発散したりしていました。

 

昨日、丁度計画していた小さな絵が届き、まるで小さな美術館のようだと思った途端、ふっと抜ける事が出来ました。

私のはやはりショックだった様でPTSDの可能性が下がりホットしています。

 

以前ここで触れた「おうちで楽しむにほんのもてなし」広田千悦子　技術評論社刊行」の”気分をかえる”に部屋や家の一角にここだけは綺麗に片付き好きなディスプレイ場所があると良い、とあるのですが、今回もまた本当にその通りだな、としみじみ思いました。

 

部屋の中に小さなアートを取り入れると言うと。余りに馴染みが無く堅苦しいような気持ちになりますが、実際の油彩ではなく好きな絵をTemuで購入し、まだ壁に置いていないのに気持ちがぐんと落ち着きました。

 

　

当たり前と言えばそうですが、部屋が散らかっていて良い事など何一つ無いんですよね。

上の鴉（からす）の絵は印刷ですが、8㎝の円形金属の額縁に入っています。

持つとちゃんと重く、何だか部屋の空気にエレガントな重さが出来たようで、前を通る度、そっと微笑みが浮かびます。

 

上の鯨とワンピースを着た女性と満月と海の絵は、アイアン製のように見えますが、厚紙で作ってあります。

こちらはBTSの「Whalien 52」という楽曲のようでそれで購入しました。 

何故かこれを見ていると、貴女は何も悪くないよ、とウォーミィな気分になります。

此方は木製の小さな引き出しが集まった棚です。やはりTemuで購入しました。

私はTemuでの取り扱いの家具が好きな様です。

シノワズリやクラシカルで重みがあるノーブルな雰囲気を部屋に足してくれるような気がします。

 

小さな部屋の中にそういった物が幾つかあると、大きな事が起こっても気持ちが鎮まりやすいようですね。

隣の県なので地震が余りない国の方は驚かれたと思いますが、とても遠い距離の隣なので此方は大事ありません。

 

今回はとても疲れ果てて環境がいつまでも片付かず、寝不足が続いていたので、ショックが出たのですが。

 

先の3・11と呼ばれる2011年の震災の時、首都東京も大分大きく揺れ、当たり前ですがメディアで仕事をしている人々は、慢性ハードワーカーで、日本の年度という、1/1に始まる一年とはまた違う区切りが4月1日なので、3月は寝不足で働かれていた方々も多かったと思います。

 

また報道に携わる方々も、災害直後から報道を続け、ショックが出やすい状況で職務を全うされていたので、PTSDを発症した方々も多かったのでは無いでしょうか。

服薬治療というのは科学医療治療ですので、数値やどの位の期間でどのような環境内で卒薬（そつやく：治療が終わること）出来たか、統計を出し、ぜひ強い報道の場では無くとも、芸術・音楽・演芸・市井の観察者として報道内で復帰して頂きたいと心から願っています。

 

私はもうすっかりショックが抜けて、あと1週間程、落ち着いた早寝早起き、片付けや家の中を綺麗にする、と続ければ、お医者様に相談せずに済みそうです。

 

空気というのは、よく水に例えられます。

落ち着いた部屋の雰囲気は、透き通って緩やかなので、本日の表題です。

 

苦手な方は一区画をお洒落にディスプレイせずとも、 こうやって静かでチャームな雰囲気を持つ、小さな絵画を揃えると心が静かにくつろげるのでは無いでしょうか？

Since it's Sunday, I'm writing something gentle.
(I mention the March 11 earthquake and the recent earthquake briefly, but the content is not graphic.)

I’ve finally finished selecting paintings that go well with my current room, and when I laid them out on the table, it looked just like a small art museum, just as I’d planned.
The impromptu redecorating project is finally over, and before I knew it, it was already August.
It was such an unexpected major redecorating project that it really wore me out.

The other day, a major earthquake struck a prefecture near the city where I live. While it wasn’t strong enough to break any furniture, my room shook side-to-side for longer than I realized.
There were also about two aftershocks that day, and perhaps because I was tired and sleep-deprived, it seems this time it really shook me up.
I’ve experienced two major earthquakes in my life so far, so I thought I’d be fine—which is why I was a little surprised.

Since I was feeling so on edge and hypersensitive, I took one Bufferin tablet a day, ate my meals, stayed away from the news, and got my housework done. At night, I’d let out the physical and mental exhaustion by quietly shedding a few tears in my room.

Yesterday, the small painting I’d been planning to get arrived, and the moment I thought, “It’s just like a little art museum,” I suddenly felt a sense of relief.
It seems the shock really did affect me, so I’m relieved that the possibility of PTSD has decreased.

In the book I mentioned here before, *Enjoying Japanese Hospitality at Home* by Chieko Hirota (published by Gijutsu Hyoron-sha), under the section “Changing Your Mood,” it says it’s good to have a spot in your room or home—just this one corner—that’s neatly organized and serves as a display area you love. Once again, I felt deeply that this is truly the case.

When people talk about incorporating small works of art into a room, it can feel unfamiliar and a bit stuffy. But instead of an actual oil painting, I bought a picture I liked on Temu, and even though I haven’t hung it on the wall yet, it’s already made me feel much calmer.

　

It goes without saying, but there’s absolutely nothing good about having a messy room.
The picture of the crow above is a print, but it’s set in an 8-cm round metal frame.
It feels substantial when I hold it, and it seems to lend an elegant weight to the room’s atmosphere; every time I walk past it, a gentle smile crosses my face.

The painting above—featuring a whale, a woman in a dress, a full moon, and the ocean—looks like it’s made of iron, but it’s actually made of thick cardboard.
It seems to be related to the BTS song “Whalien 52,” which is why I bought it.
For some reason, when I look at this, I get a warm, comforting feeling, as if someone is telling me, “It’s not your fault at all.”

This is a shelf made up of small wooden drawers. I bought it on Temu, as usual.
I seem to really like the furniture available on Temu.
I feel like it adds a noble, classical, and substantial atmosphere to the room, with a touch of Chinoiserie.

Having a few pieces like this in a small room seems to help calm my mind, even when something major happens.
Since we’re in a neighboring prefecture, people from countries where earthquakes are rare might have been startled, but because it’s a neighboring area so far away, we were fine here.

This time, however, I was completely exhausted, my living space remained a mess for ages, and I was constantly sleep-deprived, so the shock really hit me hard.

During the 2011 earthquake—commonly known as “3/11”—even the capital, Tokyo, shook quite violently. Naturally, people working in the media are chronic hard workers, and since the Japanese fiscal year begins on April 1—a different cutoff date from the calendar year that starts on January 1—I imagine many of them were working through sleep deprivation in March.

Furthermore, those involved in news reporting continued their coverage immediately after the disaster and fulfilled their duties under conditions that made it easy to experience psychological shock, so I suspect many of them may have developed PTSD.

 
Since medication-based treatment is a form of scientific medical care, I sincerely hope that statistics will be compiled—including specific data on dosage levels, the duration of treatment, and the conditions under which patients were able to wean off their medication—and that these individuals will return to the media, even if not in high-profile reporting roles, but rather as observers of the arts, music, performing arts, and everyday life.

I’ve completely recovered from the shock now, and if I continue for about another week with a calm routine of going to bed early and waking up early, along with tidying up and cleaning my home, it looks like I won’t need to consult a doctor.

The atmosphere is often compared to water.
The calm atmosphere of a room is clear and gentle, which is why I chose this as today’s title.

For those who aren’t into that style, even without styling an entire section of the room, wouldn’t collecting a few small paintings like these—which create a quiet, charming atmosphere—help your mind relax peacefully?

数日前スーパーで濃い色のピンクの薔薇を数本購入していたのですが、この暑さですぐ花が終わってしまいました。

思ったより色が残っていたので、そうだあのフォトフレームに入れては如何だろうか？と考え、フォトフレームの蓋を開き、背景に選んだカードを置き、他にブランドの値札に付いていたブランドのマークを綺麗に切った物を置き、その上に薔薇を短く切った色の残っている薔薇を映える位置に置いて、ギュウと挟みました。

本当ならパチと閉まるのですが、薔薇の花の厚さの分少し浮いている様でしたので、輪ゴムで縁を止め、後は観覧車のバランスを取りながら、数回付け直して完成しました。

今、私の部屋のコーヒーテーブルの上に置いてあります。 

 

フォトフレームがあると好きに色々な物を置いてみて、ご自身が良いなと思ったら、それで良いと私も思います。

今回はフォトフレームですが、四角いフレームの中に色々な物を置いて平面的に飾ったり、立体的に飾ったりすると、ボックスアートというものになるんですよね。

 

　

  

それで何を飾ろうかな、と考えながら、そうだ、あのピンクの色の濃い薔薇を中に入れて少し立体的なアプローチを出そうと決め、作りました。

もし未だ一刻も早くこの世から滅んで欲しかった夏休みの宿題自由研究（アート）がまだあるなら、こういうのでも良いと思うんですが。

 

　

残りの濃いピンクの薔薇はドライフラワーにしようと決め、小さく束ねて、アイアンの入れ物に今は入れています。

最終的に釘を打って、壁に飾る予定です。

少し離してブリキに印刷された昔の西洋ポスターも飾るつもりです。

I wanted a photo frame, so I bought a Ferris wheel-shaped one from Temu a while back.
It’s a knock-down model that arrives in a box.
Assembly is easy if you have a screwdriver.
It even comes with a card to put inside the frame—though I haven’t decided what to put in it yet.

A few days ago, I bought a few deep pink roses at the supermarket, but with this heat, they wilted right away.
Since the color was still more vibrant than I expected, I thought, “Why not put them in that photo frame?” So I opened the frame’s lid, placed the card I’d chosen as the background inside, added a brand logo I’d neatly cut off a price tag, and then arranged the roses—which I’d cut short to highlight their remaining color—in a spot where they’d stand out, before clamping them tightly in place.

Normally, it would snap shut, but since it seemed to be slightly raised by the thickness of the rose, I secured the edges with a rubber band. Then, while balancing the Ferris wheel, I reattached it a few times until it was finished.
Right now, it’s sitting on the coffee table in my room.

When you have a photo frame, I think it’s fine to experiment with placing different items inside—if you like how it looks, that’s good enough for me, too.
This time it’s a photo frame, but when you place various items inside a square frame and arrange them either flat or in a three-dimensional way, it becomes what’s known as “box art.”

 

　

So, as I was thinking about what to display, I decided, “That’s it—I’ll put that deep pink rose inside to give it a bit of a three-dimensional look,” and that’s how I made it.
If you still have one of those summer vacation homework “free research” (art) projects that you’ve been wishing would just disappear from this world as soon as possible, I think something like this would work just fine.  

　

I decided to turn the remaining deep pink roses into dried flowers, so I tied them into small bouquets and have them in an iron container for now.
Eventually, I plan to hammer some nails into the wall and hang them there.
I also plan to hang an old Western-style poster printed on tin, placing it a little ways away from the roses.
