キリッと寒くなってとても気持ちが良いですね。

今日は音楽の話です。

私はジャズが好きで、ジャズ・ボーカルではサラ・ヴォーンが好きです。

 

最初はラジオでカセットテープに録音して聴いていました。

日曜日か土曜の午後にFMラジオでジャズの番組をやっていて、好きな音楽のジャンルがジャズかどうかも分からず、誰に聞いて良いか分からないまま、見当だけでラジオを流しっぱなしにして、やっと自分はジャズが好きでシャンソンというジャンルも好きらしい、と分かっていきました。

 

中学生でジャズが好きだったりシャンソンが好きだったりする人は、実はたくさん居るんだと思います。

具体的に何か分からないのではあまり聞けないですよね。

自分が何が好きか、それはどのジャンルなのか。

なので、私のお勧めはラジオを3日くらいつけっぱなしにしておいて、あ、こういうの好き、と思ったら、シャザム（アプリケーション）をお持ちでない方はダウンロードして、調べるのに使うことだと思います。

 

サラ・ヴォーンでは「バードランドの子守唄」が好きで、サラが最後に来日した時も、新聞の評に「衰えない喉を披露した」とあり、嬉しかったのを憶えています。

 

　

アップル・ミュージックを使うようになって、割りと好みの音楽紹介が沢山あるので助かっています。

サマラ・ジョイはジャズシンガーで、彼女のウィキをグーグル・クロームで開くと、サラ・ヴォーンやエラ・フィッツジェラルドを思わせるボーカルだと、映画監督のレジーナ・キングに評されているそうです。

エラ・フィッツジェラルドはインスタグラムを観ていて知りました。

カロルGはVictoria's Secret（ヴィクトリアズ・シークレット）のショーで。「Ivvony Bonita」を披露しているのを視て知りました。

この楽曲のジャンルは、レゲトンやラテントラップと言うんだそうです。（アップル・ミュージック解説より）

ここらへん全体をラテン音楽と呼んで良いみたいですね。

シャーデーを思わせる雰囲気のあるパフォーマンスや、彼女のムード、歌声もハスキーでとても都会的なトーンの作風です。

少し憂鬱で明るい雨の日のようなサウンドが好きなので、聴いています。　 

 　

Tate McRaeはカナダのアーティストで、久しぶりにMTV

Video Music Award(エムティービー・ビデオ・ミュージック・アワード　通称VMA）でパフォーマンスを見て、アップル・ミュージックで最新アルバムを聴いています。

 

少し憂鬱な楽曲は聴いていると、暗くなってしまうと思われるかもしれませんが、私はこういった楽曲が出す雰囲気の着地点は、「静謐」と「都会の冷静」だと感じています。

温かい飲み物を入れて、好きなファッションやコスメの事を考えたりしながら、明るく白い霧が降る青いヒースを連想するようなくつろぎを私は漂っています。

 

　

オリヴィア・ディーンは一週間前くらいにInstagramでトレンドになっていました。

声が柔らかくミディアムに低いので、やはりゆっくりした時間や空間や、陽射しのある日などに合うと思います。

 

よく私が”わいわい”と書いている状況は、距離があって静かに、全員が気持ち良く接している状態です。

ハイ・テンションな"だけ"なのは、煩いと思う時が多いです。

 

盛り上がる時は盛り上がるんですけど、基本リラックス出来る相手としか私は盛り上がりません。

又は屈託のない街の雰囲気の中、安全で知性がある中にそれぞれがカジュアルだったりパンキーだったり、ヒップホップ、トラッドだったりする、年齢層を問わない人達とタイミングが合った時に、目を合わせない目配せを交わし、ニッコリすれ違って盛り上がるのが好きです。

 

 

　

"ロバート・グラスパーはヒップホップ、R&B、ネオソウル、ジャズなどの要素がシームレスに取り入れられている"（アップル・ミュージック、アーティスト紹介より）と有ります。

私個人の感覚では、ヒップホップ、R&B、ネオソウル、ジャズを流れるような集合体にすると、「コンテンポラリー」や「モダン」という美術展のように、無機質で白いコンクリートに小雨が降り注いでいるサウンドになりますね。

 

こちらもリラックスした中に硬質なインテリジェンスが貫かれ、良い時間を部屋の中に創れる音楽として聴いています。作曲家・ピアニスト・プロデューサーなので、キャリアが長く、 はじめてのロバート・クラスパーというプレイリストもあります。

 

 

「はじめての〜」という書き方、あちこちのアーティスト紹介で冠されていますね。

最初は明るくて、知らない人を排除しないやり方として名案だ、と私も思いましたが、もうそれが出て数十年経過しているのに、何時まで此れをやるのかな、と思います。

2026年の今見かけると、子供っぽいし、そのジャンルを知らない人達へ、優しく気さくな印象を与える笑顔では無くなってきていると思います。

 

若者や青年期の人達を捕まえて、「変な癒し笑顔」のつもりで、不要にゆっくり言って聞かせる幼稚園児扱いをしているようで、もう良い加減これは止めるべきでは無いでしょうか。

そのジャンルに明るくないだけで其処が好きで知っている界隈から、いきなり子供扱いって如何なんでしょう？ 

 

音楽好きな人達って気持ちの良いやり方をすごく沢山知っている人、結構多い筈なんですが、これ有りなんですかね？

勝手に幼稚園の黄色い帽子を被せて無理やり水色のスモッグを着せ、「はい、こっちですよ〜」と言ってるみたいですよね。気難しいかな・・・？

O.先生のお勧めで、私は初冬や初春の午前や午後の光が射す、リノリウムの床が張って有る、古く、静謐な空間を連想します。

キース・ジャレットはジャズの巨人の一人です。 

マイルス・デイヴィスのバンドでピアニストをやっていたキャリアから、彼もまた「音が冷えています。」

私もマイルス・デイヴィス分かりますとは一生言えないんですけれど、マイルスのトランペットの、神経を直接冷やすような液体窒素を思わせる、圧倒的な冷徹の音が好きです。

キース・ジャレットの音も同じく圧倒的に冷徹です。

キースは此処に柔らかく花が綻ぶ（ほころぶ）、エレガンスを感じます。

 

私も名前は知ってるけど聴き込んだことが無いので、これからキース・ジャレットを楽しむつもりです。

 

　

　

こちらは韓国のアーティスト・ファサさんの楽曲です。

パフォーマンスのYouTube再生回数が伸びていて、何だろう？　と思って視聴したら、短編映画のような余韻を残すパフォーマンスで、今迄20回以上視聴しています。

すごく良い楽曲で、贅沢でエレガンスな音に、「良いお別れ」というものは有るのか？　という思考結果をファサさんは乗せたのだそうです。

ファサさんは皆んなのものだけれど、独占したい気持ちもあり、今回ご紹介するのが私はあまり気乗りがしませんでしたし、O.先生も同じ気持ちです。

 

ホリデイ・フードですが、私はお雑煮はあご出汁で作りました。（あご＝飛魚のこと）

小さめの焼きあごが普段の半量で売られていて助かりました。

昨日の夜は、貝出汁チューブと乾燥昆布のお味噌汁を薄目に作って、中に乾燥わかめと木綿豆腐を入れ、シーチキン缶とご飯というすっかり普段通りの時間に私も居ます。

Since it's Sunday, I'm writing something gentle.

It's turned crisply cold, and it feels really good.
Today's topic is music.
I like jazz, and among jazz vocalists, I like Sarah Vaughan.
 
At first, I'd record her from the radio onto cassette tapes to listen to.
On Sundays or Saturday afternoons, there was a jazz program on FM radio. I didn't even know if jazz was my favorite genre, and I didn't know who to ask. I just left the radio on, guessing, and gradually realized I liked jazz and also seemed to like the chanson genre.
 
I think there are actually a lot of middle schoolers who like jazz or chanson.
If you don't know what you like specifically, it's hard to listen to much, right?
What do you like? Which genre is it?
So, my recommendation is to leave the radio on for about three days. When you think, “Oh, I like this kind of thing,” if you don't have the Shazam app, download it and use it to find out.
 
I especially loved Sarah Vaughan's “Birdland Lullaby.” When Sarah came to Japan for her final tour, I remember being thrilled to see newspaper reviews praising her “unfading voice.”

　

I've been usingApple Music, it's been helpful because it recommends a lot of music that suits my taste.
Samara Joy is a jazz singer. When you open her Wikipedia page in Google Chrome, it says film director Regina King described her vocals as reminiscent of Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald.
I learned about Ella Fitzgerald while browsing Instagram.

I first learned about Karol G when I saw her perform “Ivvony Bonita” at the Victoria's Secret show.
This song's genre is apparently called reggaeton or Latin trap. (From Apple Music's description)
It seems like we can call this whole area Latin music.
Her performance has an atmosphere reminiscent of Sade, and her mood, along with her husky vocals, creates a very urban-toned style.
I like the sound, which is a bit melancholic yet bright, like a rainy day, so I listen to it.　

 

 　

Tate McRae is a Canadian artist. I recently saw her perform at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) for the first time in a while and listened to her latest album on Apple Music.
 
You might think listening to these slightly melancholic songs would make you feel gloomy, but I feel the atmosphere they create ultimately lands on “tranquility” and “urban coolness.”
I find myself drifting into a state of relaxation, reminiscent of bright white mist falling over blue heath, while sipping a warm drink and thinking about my favorite fashion and cosmetics.

 

　

Olivia Dean was trending on Instagram about a week ago.
Her voice is soft and medium-low, so I think it really suits slow-paced moments, open spaces, or sunny days.
 
When I write about “lively” situations, I mean when there's a comfortable distance and quiet, and everyone interacts pleasantly.
When it's just high-energy, I often find it noisy.
 
Sure, I get excited when things get lively, but I only really get excited with people I can relax around.
Or, in the carefree atmosphere of a city, surrounded by safety and intelligence, where everyone is casual or punky, hip-hop or traditional, regardless of age, when the timing is right, I love exchanging a glance without meeting eyes, smiling as we pass, and feeling that excitement.
 

 

　

Robert Glasper seamlessly incorporates elements of hip-hop, R&B, neo-soul, and jazz (from Apple Music artist profile).
Personally, when I think of hip-hop, R&B, neo-soul, and jazz blended into a fluid collective, it feels like the sound of light rain falling on sterile white concrete—like a “Contemporary” or “Modern” art exhibition.
 
This music, too, maintains a relaxed atmosphere while being permeated by a hard-edged intelligence, creating a pleasant atmosphere within the room. As a composer, pianist, and producer with a long career, there's also a playlist for those new to Robert Glasper.
 

 
The phrase “First-time ~” seems to be plastered all over artist introductions these days.
At first, I thought it was a brilliant idea—bright and inclusive, not excluding anyone unfamiliar with the genre. But now, decades after it first appeared, I wonder how much longer they plan to keep using it.
Seeing it in 2026, it feels childish. It no longer conveys a warm, approachable smile to those new to the genre.
 
It feels like they're treating young people and adolescents like kindergarteners, speaking unnecessarily slowly to them with this “weird, soothing smile” they're aiming for. Isn't it about time we stopped this?
Just because someone isn't familiar with the genre, does that mean they suddenly deserve to be treated like children by those who love and know it?
 
Music lovers should know plenty of pleasant ways to interact—there must be quite a few of them. Is this really acceptable?
It's like forcing a kindergarten yellow cap on them, making them wear a light blue smock, and saying, “Here we go~”. Am I being too picky...?

Recommended by Mr. O, it reminds me of an old, quiet space with linoleum flooring, bathed in the light of early winter or early spring mornings and afternoons.
Keith Jarrett is one of the giants of jazz.
From his career as a pianist in Miles Davis' band, he too has a “cool sound.”
I can't say I understand Miles Davis completely, but I love the overwhelmingly cool sound of his trumpet, which reminds me of liquid nitrogen that directly chills the nerves.
Keith Jarrett's sound is also overwhelmingly cool.
I feel a soft elegance blossoming here.
 
I know his name, but I've never listened to him, so I plan to enjoy Keith Jarrett from now on.
 

 

 

This is a song by Korean artist Fasa.
I saw her performance video gaining views on YouTube and wondered, “What is this?” When I watched it, the performance felt like a short film—I've watched it over 20 times now.
It's an incredibly beautiful song, with luxurious, elegant sounds. Fasa apparently infused it with her thoughts on whether there can ever be such a thing as a “good farewell.”

Fasa-san belongs to everyone, but I also feel like keeping her all to myself. That's why I wasn't too keen on introducing her this time, and O. Sensei feels the same way.
 
For holiday food, I made ozoni soup using flying fish broth. (Ago = flying fish)
I was glad to find smaller grilled flying fish sold in half the usual amount.
Last night, I made a light miso soup with shellfish broth paste and dried kombu, adding dried wakame and firm tofu inside. Then it was canned tuna and rice—just like any other night for me.

Well then, have a wonderful Sunday.
